Shai Navot is a Senior Solicitor in the Crown Specialist Group. Shai joined Meredith Connell in 2012, and is involved in criminal prosecutions for various government departments, including the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, and the Department of Corrections. Shai also acts as Crown counsel in criminal prosecutions, and conducts jury trials on behalf of the Crown.
Shai also specialises in civil litigation in the High Court, and advises and represents the Ministry of Education in civil proceedings in relation to its weathertightness claims.
Acted as lead counsel in a number of District Court trials.
Acted as junior counsel in a jury trial in the High Court on attempted murder (R v Tauatevalu).
Acted as junior counsel for the Respondents in a civil matter for the hearing of an interlocutory application in regard to discovery matters (Minister of Education & Ors v IT Architects Ltd & Ors).
